A parent and a teacher who commit physical violence against a child for the purpose of upbringing will be fined up to 200 manats.
According to Modern.az, the issue is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed at a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building and Human Rights.
According to the draft, parents (persons replacing them), and employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, recreational, and penitentiary institutions who are responsible for supervising children will be fined in the amount of two hundred manats for the application of corporal punishment against a child, i.e., for committing physical and (or) psychological violence against a child for the purpose of upbringing or as a disciplinary measure.
It was stated that this act will be applied when it does not lead to criminal liability according to the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
