The genetic origin of the late deputy Yevda Abramov, a former member of the Milli Majlis and of Jewish descent, has been determined.

According to Modern.az, this was stated by genetic researcher and DNA project administrator Orkhan Khansuvar.

Based on the analyses conducted, Yevda Abramov's Y-DNA sample has been assigned to the ZS2458 branch of the Z18271 subclade of haplogroup J1. In this way, it has been revealed that Yevda Abramov's paternal lineage is connected to two different Jewish families belonging to the Kohen lineage in the territory of Iraq approximately 1000-1400 years ago.

It is emphasized that this genetic marker is observed in individuals descended from Prophet Aaron, the elder brother of Prophet Moses.
It was stated that the test sample belonged directly to Yevda Abramov and is of an individual nature.

It should be noted that Prophet Aaron is considered a prophet and the first High Priest (chief priest) in Jewish religious tradition. His descendants have a special religious status in Judaism and are called “Kohen”.

The term “Kohen” refers to the priestly class in the Jewish religious hierarchy, and this status is traditionally passed down from generation to generation through the paternal line.

It should be noted that Yevda Abramov was born in 1948 in Qırmızı Qəsəbə (Red Town) of Quba district.  He was elected a deputy of the III, IV, and V convocations of the Milli Majlis. The former member of parliament passed away in 2019 at the age of 71.
