Sabotage with artificial intelligence will be considered a crime.
Modern.az reports that the issue was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Defense, Security and Anti-Corruption.
According to the draft law, the concept of sabotage is being expanded. Thus, actions directed not only against enterprises and facilities, but also against critical information infrastructure, energy, transport, and telecommunication networks are included in this article. Furthermore, actions aimed at harming public health and the environment will also be considered sabotage.
According to the innovations, the use of operational artificial intelligence technologies and special software is also added to the methods of committing sabotage.
The project also identifies a number of new aggravating circumstances. These include the commission of sabotage by an organized group or criminal association, during a state of emergency or martial law, under a social emergency regime, and amidst mass riots. Furthermore, the commission of this act by a person using their official position and causing human death or other severe consequences due to negligence is also considered an aggravating circumstance.
In addition, it is proposed that persons assisting in preventing sabotage be exempted from criminal liability in certain cases.
According to the draft law, Article 282 of the Criminal Code is also presented in a new version. Here, the concept of sabotage is expanded to include actions directed against critical information infrastructure, energy, transport, and telecommunication networks. Furthermore, acts of sabotage committed using artificial intelligence technologies will also be subject to liability.
In the project, the commission of sabotage by a criminal association, during a state of emergency or martial law, as well as by using an official position, is defined as an aggravating circumstance. Liability is also stipulated for cases causing human death or other severe consequences due to negligence.
At the same time, it is proposed that persons assisting in preventing sabotage be exempted from liability in certain cases.
