The number of jobs created in Karabakh is rapidly increasing

In 2025, economic activity continued in the Karabakh economic region, with significant indicators recorded in the creation of new enterprises and the increase of employment.

According to information obtained by Modern.az from the State Statistical Committee, a total of 270 new enterprises and organizations were established in the region during the year.

Among the leaders in the number of newly established enterprises were Khankendi city and Barda district (60 each). They are followed by Aghdam district (33) and Fuzuli district (30). The fewest enterprises were recorded in Aghdara district (4). Shusha (9) and Khojavand (11) districts also stand out with low indicators.

At the same time, the number of newly created jobs in the Karabakh economic region was 2361 in 2025. This indicator increased compared to 2024. Specifically, the total number of jobs created in that year was 2266.

The highest number of new jobs were created in Tartar district (533) and Barda district (466). Although 577 new jobs were opened in Khankendi, this indicator shows a decrease compared to the previous year. For comparison, it should be noted that 702 jobs were opened in Khankendi in 2024.

Medium-level indicators were recorded in Aghdam (187), Fuzuli (143), and Khojaly (132) districts. The fewest jobs were created in Aghdara district (61).

In Shusha district, a decrease in job creation was observed compared to 2024. Specifically, the number of new jobs in the cultural capital fell from 352 to 85. In contrast, significant increases were recorded in Barda and Tartar districts.

While the number of jobs opened in Barda in 2024 was 118, this increased to 466 last year. The same indicators for Tartar are 401 and 533.
