Today, February 4, a meeting was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The leaders agreed to develop the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis, expand trade and economic cooperation, and continue confidence-building measures.

11 January 2021

A trilateral meeting was held in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The purpose of the meeting was to jointly discuss the implementation progress of the trilateral statement signed on Karabakh on November 10, 2020, the elimination of existing problems, and subsequent steps for establishing peaceful life in the region.
This was the first direct negotiation held between these leaders.

26 November 2021 

The next meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders took place on November 26, 2021. The meeting, held in Sochi, was mediated by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The parties discussed the implementation progress of the trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020, as well as the Statement of January 11, 2021, on the restoration of all economic and transport links in the region.

14 December 2021 

In Brussels, a joint meeting was held during lunch between President Ilham Aliyev, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Border delimitation and a peace agreement were discussed between the parties.

15 December 2021

An informal meeting was held in Brussels between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.

A meeting was held in video format with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, President Emmanuel Macron in his capacity as President of the European Union, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations as a continuation of the Brussels peace agenda. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the continuation of peace process negotiations, border delimitation, the opening of transport communications, the withdrawal of Armenian military formations from Azerbaijani territories, and the disarmament of illegal armed groups.

In Munich, a meeting took place between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the initiative of Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz.
During the meeting, an exchange of views on bilateral relations was held.
The German side expressed its readiness to support the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to facilitate relevant meetings in this direction in Germany on a goodwill basis. Olaf Scholz noted that the compromises reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan during COP29, and the holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan, create favorable opportunities and conditions for advancing the peace agenda.

On July 10, a meeting was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, discussions were held on important aspects of the peace agenda – border delimitation, the opening and development of the Zangezur corridor, and the initialing of a peace agreement. General agreements were reached for these negotiations to continue in various working group formats and at higher levels.

8 August 2025

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the United States of America Donald Trump, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met in Washington D.C. and signed a Joint Declaration.
At this meeting, the agreed text of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia" was initialed by the foreign ministers of the parties.
At the same time, the rejection of the OSCE Minsk Group was agreed upon.
Furthermore, a decision was made regarding the construction of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) (Zangezur corridor) passing through Armenia.

Within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The leaders discussed the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue, mutual trust, and regional stability. Both leaders noted the positive dynamic achieved during the recent Washington Summit, which once again confirmed international support for advancing the peace and normalization process.

The 7th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) was held in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. President Ilham Aliyev also met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of the agreements reached at the Washington Peace Summit, held at the initiative of US President Donald Trump. They reaffirmed their readiness to make efforts towards further strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia emphasized the benefits of transport communications in the region, discussed the progress of current work related to infrastructure development in Azerbaijani territory and the TRIPP project in Armenian territory, and exchanged views on the implementation of the Washington Declaration.
In this regard, the parties welcomed the unanimously adopted decision regarding the abolition of the OSCE Minsk process and its related structures. During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continuing confidence-building measures and agreed to maintain contacts.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on February 4. The parties welcomed the progress achieved in implementing the outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit, hosted and witnessed by US President Donald Trump. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive dynamic in advancing the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a bilateral basis.
The parties noted that both societies have witnessed the benefits of peace in real life. They expressed satisfaction with the commencement of bilateral trade and the continued export of oil products from Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the transit of grain and other goods from third countries to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. The parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
They also welcomed mutual visits by civil society representatives and agreed on the necessity of expanding confidence-building measures.
President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the implementation of TRIPP and other connectivity projects.
The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia reaffirmed their readiness to continue efforts towards further strengthening peace and stability between the two countries and agreed to maintain contacts to support the bilateral normalization process.
