Forecasts regarding teacher certification to be organized in 2026 are significantly more positive compared to previous years.
This was stated by education researcher Elmin Nuri in his statement to Modern.az.
He noted that despite this, we will witness somewhat unsatisfactory results this year as well. However, this may change to a certain extent towards positive compared to previous years.
According to the expert, it is absolutely impossible to say that there is the same quality indicator across all subjects:
“It also cannot be said that teachers testing themselves in one subject achieve similar results. The results of the process are relative, not absolute, and can vary year by year within upward and downward intervals. However, the psychological and practical preparation aspects of the matter cannot remain as they were in previous years. A teacher who passed certification in 2021 and a teacher who will pass this competition in 2026 cannot be the same. At the very least, for 5 years now, as a psychological process, they have been experiencing these factors”.
Elmin Nuri also clarified the results of teachers working in regional and city schools:
“Now the main issue is not where the teacher works, but how they work on themselves, how they react to the pedagogical process and self-development. Personally, in my opinion, unlike other countries, there is no difference between the quality indicator of a teacher working in the most remote areas and the analogous aspects of pedagogical staff working in central areas. Education, as a process, regulates its quality indicator not by location, but by environment and action. In the regions, this action can be regulated by some teachers in such a way that they can even surpass city schools”.
“At this point, a legitimate question arises: "If so, why do we see that there are quite a few teachers who cannot even score the minimum points and show weak results every year?" - The question may sound logical. But the direct cause of this is the teachers themselves. That is, because they do not attach importance to self-development and further improvement in their subjects, some have even "failed" twice in a row. The place of work and other conditions absolutely cannot be cited as reasons" – he noted in conclusion.
