Yesterday, an armed incident occurred at the “Idrak” lyceum located in Baku. During the incident, a 10th-grade student of the lyceum fired a hunting rifle at his teacher. As a result, the 29-year-old female teacher was injured.
Modern.az reports that new details of the incident have emerged.
It is reported that the student who shot his teacher frequently showed interest in videos depicting violence and armed incidents on social networks, particularly on the “TikTok” platform, and liked such posts.
According to the information, before shooting his teacher, he went to the restroom and put on khaki-colored clothing, similar to the characters in the videos he watched. He then returned to the classroom and fired at the teacher.
It is also noted that the student came to school with a large bag for 2-3 consecutive days before the incident. On several occasions, he was stopped by the school's security guard and asked what was in his bag. He stated that there was sportswear in the bag and showed the clothing.
After the incident occurred, teachers entered the classroom. At this point, he became agitated, panicked, and uttered phrases such as “I didn't want to shoot.”
It should be noted that law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation into the incident.
