It is proposed to grant a deferment from military conscription to those studying extramurally.
According to Modern.az, this was reflected in the "Report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025", which was discussed at today's meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis.
According to the report, with the aim of timely realization of the right to education without discrimination and thereby ensuring the right to equality, it is proposed to make a relevant amendment in Article 21 (Granting a deferment from conscription to continue education) of the Law "On Military Duty and Military Service" regarding the granting of a deferment from conscription also to persons studying in the form of extramural education.
