The State Examination Center (SEC) has responded to claims that the test tasks used in the graduation exam held on March 9, 2026, were difficult.
The SEC informed Modern.az that the methodological framework referenced when determining the content of graduation and admission exams is very clear and unambiguous: these are the educational programs currently in force in our country, textbooks, and the graduation exam programs prepared based on them.
“The aforementioned are taken into account when preparing the content of the exams.
As for the complexity level of the tasks, the general rule is that in every exam, easy, medium, and difficult test tasks are used in the test block for all subjects to differentiate participants with different levels of preparation. This is because the exam requires distinguishing not only between poorly and moderately prepared applicants but also between well-prepared participants,” the SEC noted.
The SEC believes that whether an exam is easy or difficult is a relative matter:
“This, of course, varies depending on the preparation level of the exam participant. Any given task might be difficult for some and easy for others. However, traditional analyses show that the opinions expressed by some participants regarding the difficulty of the test tasks do not correspond to reality.
Currently, the final exam results have not been announced. Therefore, no one can express a definitive opinion. The complexity level of the exam is not determined based on what is written on social networks. After the results are announced, the necessary indicators will be presented to the public.
The State Examination Center immediately after the exams posts all tasks and their explanations on the Center's website and social media accounts. Exam participants, as well as parents, teachers, and experts, can familiarize themselves with all test tasks. Question booklets are also provided to exam participants. All of this is a clear indicator of how open the exam content is to the public.”
It should be noted that the SEC has announced the explanations and correct answers for the test tasks used in the graduation exam held on March 9.
More than 58,000 11th-grade students participated in the exam.
The results of the students are expected to be announced within the next 7 weeks.
