A professor at Odessa National University of Technology was dismissed for conducting classes in Russian.

Modern.az reports that this information was published on the official website of Ukraine's Language Ombudsman, Yelena Ivanovskaya.

It was reported that the teacher was complained about by one of the students for conducting classes in Russian and preparing exam tickets in this language. As a result of the inspection, a protocol was drawn up against him regarding the violation of language legislation. According to existing rules, the educational process must be conducted only in Ukrainian, and due to the violation of this requirement, the professor was dismissed.

It should be noted that in Ukraine, the state language policy has been implemented more strictly since 2014. The law “On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language” adopted in 2019 has significantly restricted the use of Russian and other minority languages in the country.
