The list of schools where priority will be applied in the admission process for the first grade in general education institutions under the Baku City Education Department has been announced.
Information on this matter was provided to Modern.az by the Baku City Education Department.
Thus, student admission to schools will be conducted in a free format and based on priority (right of preference). For general education institutions where student admission will be conducted in a free format, parents will directly make their school and teacher selection through their personal cabinet. As for parents applying under priority (parent or child must be registered in the school's designated area (dislocation), a sibling must currently be studying at that school, or one of the parents must be working at that school), they can first submit an inquiry based on one of the rights of preference within the specified period (May 6 - June 4, 2026, for the Azerbaijani section, and June 17 - July 16, 2026, for sections where instruction is conducted in other languages). The application of priorities serves the purpose of facilitating parents' school selection in densely populated areas.
It should be noted that after the relevant period ends, free admission will be conducted for vacant student places in schools where the right of preference is applied (with the exception of lyceums where instruction is in other languages and admission is conducted through competition).
