Selcan Süleymanlı, a graduate of Turkey Diyanet Foundation - Baku Turkish High School, has been admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the world's most prestigious higher education institutions.
Modern.az reports that she has earned a place as a student at this university, which ranks 1st in the world according to the “QS World University Rankings 2026”.
During her school years, Selcan Süleymanlı achieved high results in several prestigious Olympiads. She won a bronze medal in 2022, gold medals in 2023 and 2024, and a silver medal in 2025 at the Republican Subject Olympiads. She also won a bronze medal in 2023 and a gold medal (“first among the first”) in 2024 at the Azerbaijan Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.
Furthermore, Selcan Süleymanlı was awarded an honorable mention at the Asian Physics Olympiad in 2025, and by winning a bronze medal at the International Physics Olympiad, she made history as the first Azerbaijani girl to win a medal in this competition.
She successfully represented Azerbaijan with her international achievements, further enhancing the prestige of the country's education system.
It should be noted that Selcan Süleymanlı is the third graduate of TDV Baku Turkish High School to be admitted to MIT. Previously, Dəniz Səttarlı was admitted to the same higher education institution in 2023, and Sevinc Mahmudova in 2024.
