Since the end of the 44-day Patriotic War, 412 people have been harmed by mine explosions.

Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding this.

"Mines targeting civilians, hindering the restoration and reconstruction process, as well as impeding safe return, are considered a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

This incident also once again highlights the urgent necessity of international support for large-scale and accelerated mine clearance operations", it was noted in the statement.

It should be noted that a mine incident occurred on November 17 in the area of Bala Jafarli village of Gazakh district, located in the border region with Armenia. An employee of the agency, Imamverdiyev Samir Mubariz oglu, born in 1988, was performing his official duties when an anti-personnel mine explosion occurred. As a result of the incident, the injured employee's right leg was amputated from the ankle.
