Starting from February 27, heavy snow fell on the territory of Quba, Qusar, and Khizi districts.

According to information provided to Modern.az by the North-East Regional Hydrometeorology Center located in Quba, the highest precipitation occurred in Khinalig village of Quba. Here, the snow depth reached 34 centimeters.

In addition, a significant amount of precipitation was recorded in Qiriz village of Quba (31 cm), Laza village of Qusar (21 cm), and Altiagaj settlement of Khizi (10 cm). The centers of Quba and Qusar received 17-20 centimeters of snow.

Due to the snowfall, the weather in the northern region became colder, and temperatures in mountainous areas dropped to minus 8 degrees Celsius at night. The lowest temperatures were recorded in Qiriz and Khinalig villages of Quba.

The heavy snowfall caused some disruptions in the electricity supply system of Quba district. Consequently, power outages occurred in over 30 settlements and certain parts of the district center. Work is currently underway to eliminate these disruptions.

Due to the weather conditions, employees of the State Traffic Police and on-duty brigades of the local department of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads have been deployed to the area. The carriageways are being cleared of snow and a sand-salt mixture is being spread. It is not recommended for inexperienced drivers, those unfamiliar with the area, or those whose vehicles are not equipped for such weather conditions, to use roads in mountainous areas during snowy weather.
