It is unacceptable that Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during a recent press briefing, while answering a question regarding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement about religious figures, attempted to mention the name of Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev in a manner completely unrelated to the topic.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the mention of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's name in this manner is a disrespect to his legacy and the Azerbaijani people:
"Such statements do not conform to the standards expected from an official representative. Diplomacy requires discipline, precision, and responsibility, not inappropriate statements that escalate tensions and damage credibility. We expect an explanation from the Russian side regarding this statement."
