The Russian Investigative Committee has reopened the investigation into the death of a Vladikavkaz resident after drinking Jermuk mineral water.

Modern.az reports with reference to Russian media that the Investigative Committee of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania issued a statement on this matter.

The case is related to Part 2 of Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in death). The investigation reopened the criminal case two years after the incident, in March 2026.

The Investigative Committee previously stated that it could not identify the persons involved in the incident, and therefore the investigation was suspended. The agency claims that due to alleged new circumstances, the case has now been reopened.
