Ali Leader of Iran's international affairs advisor, former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati commented on the negotiations between Iran and the US in Islamabad.
Modern.az reports that Velayati wrote on the social network X:
"The history of Iranian diplomacy - from the Treaty of Erzurum to the Islamabad talks - is based on one principle: the protection of Iran."
"The key to the Strait of Hormuz is in our hands," Velayati added.
Ali Akbar Velayati served as Iran's foreign minister from 1981 to 1997.
