The Kirov District Court of Yekaterinburg found Shahin Shikhlinski, former head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Urals, and his son Mutvali Shikhlinski guilty of violence against a public official.
Modern.az reports, citing Kommersant newspaper, that according to the verdict, Shahin Shikhlinski was sentenced to 9 years in prison, and his son to 8 years.
It should be recalled that in early March, Shahin Shikhlinski had also received a 22-year prison sentence on charges of murder and attempted murder committed in 2001 and 2011. The former head of the diaspora received a total of 24 years in prison. He will spend the first 4 years in prison and the remainder in a maximum-security colony.
It should be recalled that in July 2025, Shahin Shikhlinski was detained near the "Baku Plaza" shopping center in Yekaterinburg.
