I consider the agenda of Armenians returning to Karabakh dangerous.
Modern.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the “Orbeli Forum 2025”.
According to the Prime Minister, discussion of this topic could restore the foundations of the former conflict and return the situation to the initial stage of the conflict.
Pashinyan noted that it was not possible to express such an idea before, but now he openly expresses it himself and emphasizes that the agenda of the return of displaced persons from "Nagorno-Karabakh" could harm peace-building efforts.
“Perhaps I said something unimaginable a year or two ago. I said that I consider the agenda of the return of our brothers and sisters displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to be detrimental to peace. I also said that this topic, the agenda of the return of internally displaced persons, is generally dangerous, because it means returning to the initial parameters of the conflict,” he added.
The Prime Minister emphasized that any step or initiative taken in this direction could be dangerous for the future of stability and peace in the region.
