Three French citizens imprisoned in Iran's Evin prison have been released.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that this was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who had been detained in Iran for three years, went to the French embassy in Tehran after their release.
"I welcome this first step. Dialogue continues for their swift return to France. We are working tirelessly to achieve this, and I want to thank our embassy and all state institutions," the French President added.
