By the end of January 2026, Russian wheat, loaded in 132 railway wagons, will reach Armenia via Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Modern.az reports that the Russian Ministry of Transport disseminated information about this on its "Telegram" channel.

It is reported that the first batch, over 1000 tons of grain, was dispatched from Dimitrovgrad station in Ulyanovsk region. The cargo transportation was organized by Russian Railways. A 15-wagon train loaded with grain passed through Azerbaijan, crossed the Georgia-Armenia border and departed for Dalarik station of the South Caucasus Railway.

The Ministry noted that the establishment of the new logistics route became possible after the resumption of cargo transit to Armenia via Azerbaijan. This is the first such cargo transportation since the 1990s.

In addition to wheat, the delivery of other cargo categories is also being discussed.

It should be recalled that during the night, the first train (15 wagons) loaded with Russian wheat reached Armenia, passing through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
