Heavy fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction of Donetsk Oblast.
Modern.az reports that, according to the latest report from the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces have achieved certain tactical successes near Dobropolye, but the advance of the Russian army around Pokrovsk continues.
The Institute's report states that, based on geolocated videos, Ukrainian units have advanced in the northeast and southeast directions of Shakhovo.
However, Russian forces have also achieved a number of local successes in the Pokrovsk district. Video footage dated November 5 shows Russian units advancing in the western part of the Rodinsk city council building. Russian sources also report continued fighting in the northeastern part of Pokrovsk, as well as in the areas of Hryshyno and Sukhetske.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that over the past day, the Russian army attempted to break through the Ukrainian defense line 93 times in the Pokrovsk direction. Attacks were recorded around Mayak, Nikanorovka, Fedorovka, Pokrovsk, Lisovka, Zvirivo, Novopavlovka, Kotlinoe, Udachnoye, Novosergiyevka, and Yalta.
According to the French publication "Le Monde", Russian forces have encircled Pokrovsk from the north and entered the city from the south and east directions.
