Amid the ongoing corruption scandal in Ukraine, discussions are underway regarding whether Volodymyr Zelenskyy will run for a second term.

According to Modern.az. "Politico" writes that individuals close to the president believe it is not advisable for him to participate in the election again, due to the sharp decline in Zelenskyy's ratings and the devastating impact of the corruption crisis.

According to the information, the current situation weakens Zelenskyy's chances of re-election and strengthens the positions of potential rivals.

It should be noted that on November 10, Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) conducted large-scale searches at the state company “Energoatom”.

NABU officials stated that the investigation exposed the activities of a “high-level criminal organization”, which established a multifaceted corruption scheme at “Energoatom” by demanding 10–15% in “kickbacks”. It was explained that the strategic company, with an annual turnover exceeding 200 billion hryvnias, was effectively controlled not by its official management, but by external individuals.

Zelenskyy also commented on the scandal, stating that real and effective steps in the fight against corruption are of vital importance for Ukraine.
