Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, has revealed Russia's main targets for 2026.
According to Modern.az, Budanov stated in an interview with Ukraine's local publication “Suspilne” that Moscow intends to completely occupy the Donbas and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The intelligence chief stated that the Kremlin's objective is clearly outlined in Russian military planning. This list includes full control over the Donetsk region, maximum advancement in the Dnipropetrovsk region, continuation of offensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, and the expansion of “buffer” zones along the border.
"These are their main objectives. In 2026, the primary goal is the Donbas and Zaporizhzhia regions," Budanov emphasized.
