Margarita Simonyan, head of Russia's RT television channel, cannot escape the misfortunes plaguing her family.
Modern.az reports, citing Russian media, that one of Simonyan's children is said to have contracted an incurable disease. Doctors are not giving optimistic prognoses, while Simonyan calls the situation a real disaster.
"When Tigran (referring to her husband - ed.) fell into a coma, it became known that one of our children is very seriously ill. And it is not possible to cure him/her. I do not want to talk about this extensively. This is simply a disaster", she noted.
Margarita Simonyan's husband, Tigran Keosyan, fell into a coma in December 2024. He later passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 59, due to heart disease.
After her husband's death, Margarita Simonyan herself was diagnosed with a serious illness - an oncological problem. The chemotherapy course, which began in October last year, is continuing with difficulty. She admitted that she had already agreed to any outcome of the treatment.
