Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf mocked US President Donald Trump's threat of a naval blockade against Iran.

According to Modern.az, Qalibaf stated in his post on his X account that such steps will eventually lead people to long for gasoline prices of 4-5 dollars.

Qalibaf rejected Trump's threats and emphasized that such measures would be counterproductive.

He reminded Americans: "Enjoy the current prices. With the situation called 'siege', you will soon long for 4-5 dollar gasoline."

His post also included a picture of a map showing gasoline prices at gas stations near the White House.

Donald Trump warned on Sunday that the US Navy would begin blockading the Strait of Hormuz and inspect any vessel paying duties to Iran in international waters.

However, Trump stated that the measures would only target vessels going to or coming from Iranian ports. It was also noted that international vessels not belonging to Iran would have the right of free passage through the strait.

The US military announced that it would begin blockading Iranian ports at 2:00 PM on Monday.
