Peter Magyar, leader of the opposition "Tisza" party, made a broad speech after winning a constitutional majority in the parliamentary elections held in Hungary on April 12, and announced the first steps of the new government.

Modern.az reports that Peter Magyar demanded that Prime Minister Viktor Orban immediately resign voluntarily and assume the status of acting prime minister, and also called on the winners to refrain from making decisions that would "tie their hands."

He also asked President Tamás Sulyok to give "Tisza" the task of forming the government and then to step down from office.

In addition, Magyar demanded the resignation of all persons appointed by Orban in state structures – the chairman of the Supreme Court, the chief prosecutor, the heads of the media regulatory p and the antitrust p.

"Go yourselves. Don't force us to remove you from office!" he said.

After the new parliament begins its work, Peter Magyar promised to restore the system of powers and balance, return the independence of institutions and join the European Public Prosecutor's Office. According to him, Hungary will once again become a reliable partner in the European Union and NATO.

He plans to make his first foreign visits to Warsaw, Vienna and Brussels - these visits will also be aimed at restoring European funding frozen during the Orban era.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has already congratulated Peter Magyar on his victory.

Against the background of "Tisza"'s victory, Hungarian journalists drew attention to the disappearance of Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó from public view - he did not appear next to Orban when he admitted defeat and remained silent on social networks for more than 16 hours. Szijjártó has been at the center of a scandal after reports of his possible ties with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and allegations of transmitting confidential information from EU summits to Moscow.
