After the failure of the Islamabad talks, Washington is faced with a choice of "unattractive options."

Modern.az reports that this was stated in CNN's information.

Iran firmly rejected two key US demands - to abandon its nuclear program and open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump's claims that US military power would subdue its rivals have failed.

Continuing military action threatens to harm the global economy - oil prices have already risen by 8% to $104 per barrel - and could lead to retaliatory strikes against US allies in the region. However, even withdrawing from the conflict with an announcement of "achieving its goals" will come at a high reputational cost: Iran still controls the Strait of Hormuz and retains all its enriched uranium reserves.

The talks held on April 11 were led by US Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The parties could not reach an agreement. Details of a possible new round of talks are still unknown.
