Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has come to the defense of Pope Leo XIV.
Modern.az reports that Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the insult to the Pope.
"Holy Pope Leo XIV, on behalf of the great people of Iran, I condemn the insult addressed to you. The insult to Jesus is unacceptable for any free person," he said.
It should be recalled that Donald Trump complained about the pontiff because the Vatican did not support the US conflict in Iran and stated that he was "not satisfied" with him. He noted that he did not understand foreign policy.
