Azerbaijani judokas start competing in the Grand Slam tournament
Azerbaijani judokas will start competing today in the "Grand Slam" tournament to be held in the French capital Paris.
According to Modern.az, three athletes will step onto the tatami on the first day of the competition.
Balabəy Ağayev (60 kg) will face the winner of the pair Kim Hwasu (South Korea) - Francisco Garrigos (Spain) in the 1/16 final round.
In the same round, Nazir Talıbov will face Miguel Gago (Portugal) - Erbol Abasbekov (Kyrgyzstan), while Ruslan Paşayev (both 66 kg) will compete with the stronger participant of the duel Yusuf Nurkovic (Montenegro) - Bence Pongracz (Hungary).
It should be noted that the "Grand Slam" will conclude on February 8. Azerbaijan is represented by eight judokas in the competition.
