On November 16, the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also participated in the meeting. The decision adopted at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia became one of the most significant diplomatic outcomes of recent years.
Thus, Azerbaijan has officially joined the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full-fledged participant, which serves as an effective format for discussing the most sensitive and strategically important issues of regional development.
Kamran Bayramov, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties, told Modern.az that this decision is not accidental:
"Mr. President Ilham Aliyev's relations with Central Asia are a direct result of a long-term foreign policy that develops partnerships based on mutual respect, pragmatism, and strategic trust. Under his leadership, Azerbaijan has transformed from a transit territory into a full-fledged regional actor capable of influencing routes, decisions, and processes that shape the economy and security of the entire region."
According to the deputy, with the adopted decision, the leaders of the Central Asian states have confirmed that Azerbaijan's contribution to the development of the Middle Corridor, Eurasia's energy architecture, and the political stability of the region is irreplaceable.
K. Bayramov also stated that our country can now participate in the format where future regional policy is shaped:
"This opens up opportunities for more dynamic cooperation, ranging from trade and logistics to security issues and humanitarian initiatives, and goes beyond merely a diplomatic success. The Tashkent decision is the result of far-sighted leadership and the confirmation of Azerbaijan's growing weight in the new Eurasian architecture."
