During investigations covering various periods, documents collected with detected signs of crime were sent to the relevant investigative bodies for legal assessment in 62 cases. Criminal cases were initiated in 14 of these materials, submissions were made regarding the elimination of legal violations in 17 cases, and investigations have not been completed in 31 cases.
According to Modern.az, this was stated during the annual report of the p exercising administrative control over the activities of municipalities at today's meeting of the Regional Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis.
Based on the investigations:
The activities of the Fatmayı municipality of Absheron district were investigated, and regarding the fact of significant damage caused to the rights and legitimate interests of the municipality and society as a result of abuse of official powers by an official of the municipality, a criminal case was initiated at the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 308.1 and 308.2 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Regarding the fact of illegal document preparation related to the allocation of a land plot belonging to the property of the Quxuroba municipality of Gusar district and the deliberate use of forged documents, a criminal case was initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 320.1 and 320.2 (forgery, illegal preparation, sale of official documents, state awards, seals, stamps, forms, or use of forged documents) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Regarding the fact of fraud committed by the chairman of the Sarıcalı municipality of Saatlı district by using his official position, a criminal case was initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Article 178.2.3 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Regarding the fact of drafting decisions on the allocation of land plots belonging to municipal property without adhering to collegiality principles, embezzlement of local budget funds, and squandering of municipal property by officials of the former Aşağı Cürəli-Muğan municipality of Bilasuvar district, a criminal case was initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 179.2.3, 179.2.4 (embezzlement or squandering), 308.1 (abuse of official powers), and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Regarding the fact of embezzlement of local budget funds and illegal document preparation related to the allocation of a land plot belonging to the municipality's property by an official of the Mürşüdoba municipality of Khachmaz district, a criminal case was initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3 (fraud) and 320.1 (forgery, illegal preparation, sale of official documents, state awards, seals, stamps, forms, or use of forged documents) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Regarding the fact of drafting forged decisions on behalf of the municipality by officials of the Böyük Qışlaq municipality of Tovuz district without adhering to collegiality principles, a criminal case was initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official powers), 311.3.2 (receiving a bribe – passive bribery), and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, etc.
Also, documents collected regarding officials of the Sarov, Garadaghli, Yukhari Gapanli, Beyimsarov municipalities of Tartar district, Gobu municipality of Absheron district, Urva, Samur municipalities of Gusar district, former Novosaratovka municipality of Gadabay district, etc. were sent to the relevant investigative bodies for legal assessment.
