Israeli warplanes struck the Mahmudiyah and Jormuk districts in southern Lebanon.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in a report by the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).

On Thursday night, the Israeli army raided southern Lebanon. A special forces unit advanced one kilometer from the border, attacked the Blida municipal building, and killed an administrative employee. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called these actions a gross violation of the country's sovereignty.

Lebanese authorities have repeatedly stated that, despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel continues to systematically violate the republic's sovereignty. Israeli forces maintain their presence in five strategic locations in southern Lebanon, including the northern Ghajar village, which Lebanese authorities consider an ongoing occupation and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Interior, Israel has carried out more than 4,500 attacks on Lebanon since the beginning of 2025. As a result of these attacks, more than 300 people have been killed and over 680 people injured.

The Israeli army, in turn, claims that the strikes target Hezbollah's military infrastructure and destroy the leadership of its militant wing. Israel has repeatedly stated that it will continue to launch strikes on Lebanon to eliminate the threat posed by the Shiite resistance.
