Claims regarding former Minister of Education, Professor Misir Mardanov, who currently heads the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education, have been disseminated in the press.
According to the claims, he allegedly believes that Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev will soon bid farewell to his position, and the professor considers himself the most realistic candidate for the ministerial post.
Modern.az contacted Misir Mardanov to clarify the claims.
The former minister stated in his declaration to our website that he has no desire to return to the ministerial post:
"It seems to me that these claims are slanderous. I cannot have such a wish or desire. I am currently engaged in my work, serving as the Director General of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics. I repeat, these claims are slander and aim to mislead the public".
It should be noted that Misir Mardanov served as Minister of Education from 1998 to 2013.
