Turkey announced that progress has been observed in the talks between the US and Iran.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to the minister, the Iran-US confrontation negatively affects not only the region but the entire world.
“We welcome the progress made in the talks between Iran and the US and hope that this process will yield concrete results and contribute to the establishment of lasting peace and stability,” Fidan said.
He emphasized that the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and a return to the pre-war situation are important for the global economy, energy security, and international stability.
Hakan Fidan added that Turkey is increasing its diplomatic efforts to support a settlement in the Persian Gulf region.
“Along with the US and Iran, we are also holding intensive consultations with regional countries. In this context, we highly appreciate Pakistan's mediation efforts aimed at ensuring a lasting ceasefire and continue to support these initiatives,” the minister noted.
According to Fidan, the parties should refrain from steps that could jeopardize the diplomatic process, and the international community should demonstrate a unified position to stop the war.
“In particular, it is important to prevent Israel's attempts to violate the ceasefire,” he added.
