Member of Parliament, Chairman of the National Front Party Razi Nurullayev will meet with Armenian MPs in Vienna on November 9.
The MP himself informed Modern.az about this in a statement.
“Other parties from Azerbaijan will also be invited to that event. Although I don't have exact information, I know that an invitation should also be sent to the ruling party. I have accepted the invitation. I will apply to the Milli Majlis in this regard in the coming days,” he said.
The MP also spoke about the issues to be discussed at the meeting:
“In all my foreign trips, including events attended by political parties of Armenia, I protect the interests of Azerbaijan. We already have a formed agenda in this regard. The peace agenda has also been discussed. How to achieve peace between the two countries, what obstacles exist in this direction, what we should do to eliminate them, and what responsibilities fall on each side – we discuss these. Of course, sometimes Armenians stick to their positions. However, during the meetings, I see that international organizations are also leaning towards Azerbaijan.”
Razi Nurullayev stated that Azerbaijan has taken steps towards peace, delimitation and demarcation, and has removed restrictions on transit from a third country to Armenia:
“Azerbaijan has always taken the first steps and expects the same behavior from Armenia. There is no need to strain relations that are normal today. Currently, the position of the ruling party, civil servants, and ordinary citizens in Azerbaijan is one: Karabakh is Azerbaijan. We will not take a single step back from this position, from our national interests.”
It should be noted that in June last year, a meeting was held between representatives of political parties of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Vienna, organized by the European Union International Research Center. The meeting was attended by Razi Nurullayev, chairman of the National Front Party, MP, Arif Hajili, chairman of the Musavat Party's Supreme Assembly, Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the Bright Armenia Party, and Arusya Yulhakyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract Party and a member of the Armenian parliament.
Such meetings are held annually by the European Union International Research Center.
