Azerbaijani candidates are also competing for deputy mandates in the elections that started today in Russia and will be held until September 20.
Modern.az reminds that 4 Azerbaijani candidates who have nominated themselves for parliaments of various levels in the current election process attract attention. Among them, Tural Aydemir oglu Novruzov is running for the Russian State Duma, and the other three candidates – Niyazi Nizami oglu Jahangirov, Ruslan Elbeyi oglu Aliyev and Parviz Suliddin oglu Suleymanov are competing for election to regional parliaments.
Tural Novruzov, born in Kazakhstan in 1985, is engaged in farming in Chelyabinsk region. He has been a member of the Communist Party of Russia since 2024 and has nominated himself for the State Duma from election district No. 189.
Niyazi Jahangirov, born in 1990, is engaged in entrepreneurial activity. He was the director of Apatity city market in 2017–2021. Jahangirov is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and is registered as a candidate for the Murmansk Regional Duma from Apatity election district No. 15.
Ruslan Aliyev, born in 1984, is engaged in entrepreneurial activity and is presented as a candidate for the Krasnodar Regional Duma from the “United Russia” party.
Parviz Suleymanov, born in 1978, has nominated himself for the Kursk Regional Duma from the “United Russia” party. The elections to the Kursk Regional Duma are scheduled to be held on September 20, 2026.
Thus, in these elections, Azerbaijani candidates are fighting for representation both in the federal parliament of Russia and in the legislative bodies of individual regions.
