Ashura will be celebrated on June 25.
This was reported by the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
"The Council of Qadis of the Caucasus Muslims Office and its authorized representatives inform Muslim brothers and sisters that the 1447th year of the Hijri-lunar calendar is ending, and the beginning of the new year 1448 - the 1st of Muharram - will coincide with June 16 according to the Gregorian calendar, and Ashura with June 25, inshallah, according to the calendar prepared by the Fatwa Department of the Council of Muslim Religious Leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the calculations of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the CMO stated.
