Modern.az reports that Turkey's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgün, stated this in his statement to journalists.
“Our first Northern Cyprus promotion days are organized this year here, in Icherisheher, in Gosha Gala Square. This is truly an event of extremely symbolic importance in terms of the solidarity of the Turkic world.
I thank the Baku representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for the implementation of this organization and all relevant institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for creating this wonderful opportunity. The Turkic world is one family. As Mr. President Ilham Aliyev often emphasizes, this is our common family. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is also a part of this family with observer status in the Organization of Turkic States. This cooperation and solidarity have a very important meaning.
As Turkey, we wholeheartedly support such meaningful events. We want people to come and see the beauties here, get to know the local culture and delicacies, and spend pleasant summer days together in this tourist environment. At the same time, brotherly peoples should get to know each other better,” the ambassador said.
