Controversial blogger Alexander Lapshin has announced that he will take legal action against Armenia if the ban on his entry to the country is not lifted.

Modern.az reports that Lapshin shared a post about this on his social media account.

According to him, in May, June, and July, he held video conferences with members of the European Parliament and two members of the US Senate to discuss the ban on his entry to Armenia and sought their support.

At the same time, the Council of Europe's platform for the protection and safety of journalists also published a notification regarding Lapshin's case.

According to the document, on April 5, 2026, Alexander Lapshin was not allowed into the country after arriving at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan.

"I hope that this issue will be resolved and the topic will be closed. Otherwise, polite appeals will be replaced by legal actions," he noted.

It should be noted that Alexander Lapshin was detained in Belarus in 2017 for illegally visiting the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and was later extradited to Azerbaijan. By the verdict of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, he was deprived of his freedom, but was later released by the pardon order of President Ilham Aliyev.
