Working in front of a computer for long periods during the day can cause fatigue, dryness, burning, and pain in the eyes. Especially staying in front of the screen without a break leads to tension in the eye muscles.

Modern.az reports that experts recommend following a number of simple rules to prevent this situation.

Follow the 20-20-20 rule

One of the most effective methods for eye health is the "20-20-20" rule. According to this rule, it is recommended to look at an object approximately 6 meters away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. This helps to relax the eye muscles.

Maintain screen distance

The computer screen should be located approximately 50-70 centimeters away from the eyes. The screen being too close can cause the eyes to tire more quickly.

Don't forget to blink

People blink less when working in front of a computer. This causes dry eyes. It is beneficial to blink more often consciously and to use artificial tear drops with a doctor's advice if necessary.

Pay attention to lighting

There should be proper lighting in the area where the desk is located. The brightness of the screen should be adjusted to match the room's light, and reflections on the screen should be prevented.

Do eye exercises

Closing your eyes for a few seconds, looking into the distance, and slowly moving your eyes from side to side can help reduce fatigue.

Use night mode

Using night mode and blue light filters on phones and computers can help the eyes stay more comfortable in front of the screen.

Experts state that if eye pain persists for a long time, if blurred vision, severe headaches, or other discomforts occur, it is absolutely necessary to consult an ophthalmologist.
