The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has completed the next phase of air strikes against Iran.
Modern.az reports that, according to information released by the agency, US forces targeted Iranian military command centers, naval facilities, missile and unmanned aerial vehicle launch sites, as well as air defense systems.
The statement noted that the goal is to weaken Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
"The transit of commercial vessels through this vital international maritime corridor continues. Since early May, Central Command forces have supported the safe passage of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil," the US military said.
According to Pars Today, at least 14 explosions were heard in the Iranian cities of Chabahar and Konarak. Explosions also occurred in the city of Sirik in southern Iran.
IRIB also reported that the cities of Shiraz and Bandar Abbas were attacked.
