Hundreds of anti-migrant protesters in Britain have blocked roads leading to Dover port, considered the country's largest passenger port.

Modern.az reports with reference to BBC that the protesters, dressed in black and with their faces covered, chanted "Stop the boats" and "Send them back".

Due to the protest, the movement of passenger and cargo transport was practically stopped for several hours. It was reported that no one was detained in connection with the incident, and the police called the action "spontaneous".

The protest was held at a time of increasing tension over illegal migration across the English Channel. Dover is one of the regular venues for anti-migrant protests. This is because migrants attempting to cross into Britain in small boats and detained are brought to this port.

It is noted that this protest was more widespread compared to previous ones. The British authorities condemned the blockade of the port. Even Nigel Farage, the leader of the conservative Reform UK party, stated that he was against the protest of masked and balaclava-wearing protesters.
