US presented updated peace proposals to Moscow and Kyiv

US President's special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner presented updated proposals for ending the war in Ukraine to Moscow and Kyiv.

Modern.az reports that “Financial Times” published information about this.

According to the publication's sources, previously prepared documents on a peaceful settlement were reviewed and adapted to the changing circumstances after the negotiations reached a deadlock in February.

However, it is reported that Witkoff and Kushner put forward few new ideas. Their main goal was to bring previous proposals back to the agenda and reduce disagreements between Kyiv and Moscow.

Sources noted that during the discussions held on September 6, a “general understanding” emerged that it would be difficult to end the war in Ukraine before winter.

According to the “Financial Times” assessment, the visit of US representatives did not create progress in the negotiations, and the prospects for a large-scale ceasefire remain uncertain. According to the information, the representatives mainly tried to revive previous peace proposals.
