Armenia has filed a complaint with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) regarding restrictions imposed on the import of goods to Russia.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gasparyan in a statement to journalists in parliament.
According to him, not only direct relations with Russia, but also existing mechanisms within the EAEU are important for solving the problem:
“There are specific mechanisms that can be used to remove such obstacles. We are actively taking advantage of these opportunities. We have submitted a complaint and we are confident that the mechanisms should work and the restrictions should be lifted.”
Gasparyan noted that, according to the position of the Armenian government, the restrictions imposed by Russia are not in line with the principles of the Eurasian Economic Union and the agreements in force.
“We are fighting for the EAEU to operate in accordance with its own principles,” the deputy minister emphasized.
