Strengthening cooperation among Turkic states will strengthen their position on the international arena.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Devlet Bağçalı, chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Bağçalı stated that the Organization of Turkic States is an important actor that will create a basis for peace, tranquility and justice at regional and global levels.
According to him, the "Turkic belt" that will be formed will further strengthen dialogue and cooperation between Turkic states and societies:
"By evaluating opportunities and possibilities within the framework of independence and sovereignty, Turkic states will become powerful actors of the era."
The MHP chairman emphasized that Turkey pursues a foreign policy that strengthens economic, political, cultural and scientific ties with the Turkic world.
Bağçalı also touched upon the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be hosted by Turkey on October 29-30:
"With this summit, the heart of the Turkic world will beat in Ankara. As the entire Turkic world, we will celebrate the 103rd anniversary of our Republic together, and we will once again declare our unity and solidarity to friends and foes."
