The Turkish authorities plan to submit a document to the parliament allowing the deployment of a military contingent in Saudi Arabia.
Modern.az reports that “Reuters” spread information about this, citing a deputy from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
According to the deputy, the document will be submitted to the parliament after the ratification of the Mecca agreement on joint defense concluded between Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In the first stage, it is planned to send technical personnel and specialists to Saudi Arabia to provide defense support. Support will include strengthening air defense and electronic warfare capabilities.
The source said that Turkish units deployed abroad will not be involved in offensive operations.
