The US War Department has unexpectedly reduced the official number of wounded soldiers.
Modern.az reports that, according to "The Intercept", the Pentagon has reduced the previously announced figure of 428 to 413 (and in some reports to 411). No official explanation has been given for the change.
Sources and former officials state that the DCAS system used to track casualties may in some cases fail to record hundreds of injuries or overlook them entirely.
It is noted that some incidents – including injuries on ships or deaths from illness – are not included in the overall statistics.
According to claims, at least one of the recorded deaths – the death of Major Sorfli Dovius – was not included in official reports.
It should be noted that additional statements from official bodies are currently awaited.
