Russia considers the deployment of US medium and long-range missile systems in Norway among NATO's steps that sharply destabilize the situation.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
According to her, the deployment of ground-based missile systems in Norway demonstrates NATO's intention to create capabilities to strike deep into Russian territory.
Zakharova claimed that these installations can also launch long-range missiles. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry official, the deployment of such missiles could give NATO the ability to target a significant part of the European part of Russia, including Moscow.
It should be noted that the US previously deployed a new launch facility for medium and short-range missiles in Norway. This made Norway the second country in Europe to receive this type of US system.
According to information, it is about the "Mk 70" complex, which has the ability to launch various types of missiles, including "Tomahawk" cruise missiles. The system was brought to Norway as part of joint military exercises between the US, Great Britain, and Norway.
