The new head coach of the Turkish national team has been announced.
Modern.az reports that the press service of the Turkish Football Federation has released information about this.
After Vincenzo Montella's departure, experienced specialist Sergen Yalçın was appointed to the vacant position. A 4-year contract was signed between the parties. The 53-year-old specialist, who last coached "Antalyaspor", emphasized that financial issues were secondary for him when talking about his new position.
He said the following about his appointment: "Leading the national team is every coach's dream. The crescent and star jersey is above everything else. Believe me, I haven't even discussed the salary issue with the federation management yet. When the topic is the homeland and the national team, money takes a back seat. Our only goal is to make our people happy and to take the team to where it deserves to be."
